Adaptations(2025-2026)

Vocabulary:  Adaptations, camouflage, mimicry, hibernation, migration

Things that organisms have on their bodies or things that they do help them survive in their habitats are called Adaptations.

There are 2 types of adaptions: 1) Physical and 2) Behavioural.

 

Species, population & community(2025-2026)

Vocabulary:  Species, population, community, habitat, niche

After looking at the Abiotic factors of an ecosystem - the Water cycle - we now turn our attention to the Biotic factors in an ecosystem.

Biotic factors are actually strictly organized in Nature.  

They have to be, or Ecosystems would not work.  There are a lot of moving parts.

Water Cycle(2025-2026)

Vocabulary:  Cycle, evaporation, transpiration, condensation, precipitation, runoff, infiltration, groundwater flow.

Water is a precious and surprisingly scarce abiotic factor in ecosystems.
